MFHA Centennial Celebration Activities This season (2006-2007), the Masters of Foxhounds of America (MFHA) is celebrating its Centennial Anniversary. That's right -- an amazing 100 years of foxhunting history in the United States! There are numerous joint meets, Field Trials for both live and drag packs, Field Hunter Trials for our trusty steeds, plus a travelling art show depicting the sport of foxhunting. Why Worry Hounds is hosted one of the Centennial Field Hunter Trials on December 2, 2006, at Sporting Days Farm in Aiken, SC. For a write up of the results, please see the Centennial Field Hunter Trials Web page. Show Results The WWH competed in several shows this year. A warm-up puppy show was held at the home of the Jt. Masters, George and Jeanie Thomas on May 6. Participants from Why Worry, Whiskey Road, Aiken Hounds, Flat Branch, and Belle Meade hunts took to the boards to show off their hounds and practice for the upcoming shows in North Carolina and Virginia. Charles Montgomery, the Huntsman from Live Oak, acted as our venerable judge and did a superb job. The hound show was followed by the ever-popular terrier races and the lurcher coursing. This wonderful day of showing flowed right into a Derby party where all cheered on their favorite in the Kentucky Derby. Check our the Show Results page for information on Why Worry's successes at the Carolinas Hound Show and the Virginia Hound show. |
